Feeling festive: What’s on in the run-up to Christmas

We’ve rounded up our favourite local events this winter. Diaries at the ready…

The Rubens Festive Afternoon Tea

When it comes to afternoon tea, we Brits don’t need much of an excuse to indulge ourselves. With this in mind, The Rubens at the Palace hotel has added to its famous afternoon tea menus with a brand new festive-themed serving. Delightful pastries such as mint chocolate Christmas trees and eggnog profiteroles come with traditional finger sandwiches featuring new fillings such as smoked salmon and horseradish on beetroot bread and the obligatory roast turkey and cranberry mayo – plus unlimited mulled wine. There’s even a mini version so your little prince or princess needn’t miss out on the festive fun.

£50 per person. Children’s menu at £19 per child under the age of 12. The Rubens at the Palace hotel, 39 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 0PS; rubenshotel.com
